FUN EVENT, JULY 1, 2011

CELEBRATING INDEPENDENCE DAY

40 members got together on July 1st  to celebrate the Independence Day holiday, have fun and enjoy some good food and friendships.

Attire was red, white and blue or anything patriotic.

Doug Dow  lead the group in a sing along of God Bless America.

Sal Mollo on behalf of the Club Board of Directors presented a framed Certificate of Appreciation to Bob and Carol Smith for their many contributions to the club over the years.

The morning game was position rotation where each member played four ends and then rotated to the next position. The "A" team rotated up while the "B" team rotated down.  The team that earned the most points was declared the winner.  At the end of the morning games a lunch break was called.

We give special thanks to many of our novice players who planned the festivities and setup the decorations for the day as well as providing a great lunch and dessert.  Those involved were Teri Komatsu, Jose Rodriquez, Sherry Creager, Barbara Angus, Tory and Le Ann Smith, Tom Agar Jules Bilodeau and probably others that I have missed.

We had a delicious lunch of BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers plus a variety of salads and desserts.

After lunch a skills contest was organized by Pinky Palladino  to see who could place their bowl through a PVC pipe frame: men bowled against one another diagonally 110 feet, while on the other diagonal women bowled a shorter distance.   Entry was $1 to the "pot" and winners got the pot.

The winners were:
     1.  Rotation:  Rich Purcell, Conrad Bilodeau and Sherry Creager.  18 points.
The winners won bags of beef jerky made by our own Jose Rodriquez.
     2.  Skills  (18 men and 15 women participated)
          Men:  Bob Smith
          Women:  Carol Smith

Many thanks to all those that stayed over and helped clean-up and put the club house back together.
